Score as many points as you possibly can in prehistory in Dino Land! DINO-Bunz was once a small and insignificant dinosaur, but then he rolled himself into a ball. With this, he gained the power to knock down even the biggest of dino-enemies. This is good, because huge carnivorous dinosaurs have captured his girlfriend, Meeshell. Can you help save the girl and the day?

Controls are simple. The left button activates the left flipper, while the C Button activates the right flipper. Gameplay is simple. Hit all of the obstacles on the screen and try to figure out how to advance to the next scene. I was able to get to the first boss, but couldn’t figure out how to beat him. Looking back at the manual now, I should have pressed the B Button to transform from a ball to a dinosaur. Oh well.

Apparently, defeating the boss sends you up to the second of three scenes, but I didn’t ever see them. Could I probably give this another shot and progress farther? Sure. But do I want to? Not really.

Graphics: 1.5

I was not impressed by the graphics, but they weren’t horrid.

Sound: 2.0

Music and sound effects are average at best.

Gameplay: 1.5

Angling shots was more difficult than I would have liked and the board doesn’t make the most sense.

Difficulty: 2.0

This is an average difficulty pinball machine, which is to say if you get a bad bounce, you’re screwed.

Fun Factor: 1.5

It doesn’t live up to the bar set by Compile’s pinball machines.

Overall Rating: 1.7

Dino Land earns a C-. I didn’t think this was a very good pinball game, but it wasn’t bad. Just don’t expect much from it.
